NRL news 2023: Parramatta re-signs Maika Sivo
Parramatta has re-signed star winger Maika Sivo until the end of the 2025 season.
The fan favourite, who made his debut for the club in 2019, has scored 67 tries in just 83 matches in the blue-and-gold.
He scored what proved to be the winning try in Parramatta’s preliminary final win over North Queensland in 2022, booking a spot in the club’s first grand final in 13 years.

“Maika is such a powerful athlete who is not only difficult to contain but he can score tries from almost impossible positions,” said Eels football boss Mark O’Neil.
“He is one of a handful of players in the NRL who can bring the crowd to their feet during a match. The noise and atmosphere at CommBank Stadium is unforgettable when Maika scores a try.
“With a young family, we are glad that Maika has extended his time at the Eels and we look forward to celebrating more milestones together.”
Sivo’s contract extension comes on the back of similar news for teammates Dylan Brown and Will Penisini, although the future of halfback Mitchell Moses is still not clear.
While Moses is expected to turn down a massive offer from the Wests Tigers to remain at Parramatta, that’s yet to be made official.
The Eels open their 2023 season against Melbourne on Thursday night.
