Northeast Election Results 2023 LIVE: BJP set to return to power in Tripura as it crosses majority mark

LIVE

The counting of votes for assembly elections, held in Tripura, Meghalaya, and Nagaland will begin at 8 am and expected to be completed by the end of the day.

While 60 seats are up for grabs in Nagaland, one constituency (Akuluto) has been won uncontested by the BJP. In Meghalaya too, the total number has come down to 59 as the election on one seat has been countermanded.
Exit polls are suggesting that the BJP will be able to secure a comfortable majority in Tripura, Nagaland, and marginally improve its tally in Meghalaya. On the other hand, Congress, which once dominated the Northeast, is headed for a wipeout in the three states.
